Message from our Group Representative

The Trio Group originated in 1979 with the establishment of the main entity, Trio System Plans Co., Ltd. I was in direct contact with clients as an on-site SE for about 10 years after the company was established. The most rewarding moments for me as an SE were when customers came up and thanked me for the systems I’d installed. The feeling I had at those times led to my determination to work diligently and steadily.

The Trio Group currently consists of 6 companies: 4 in Japan and 2 overseas (China and Vietnam). All group companies will work diligently and steadily to earn customers’ appreciation.

Group Management Philosophy

"Trio" in our company name refers to three things: "software", "hardware", and "humanware", which aims to provide human-friendly systems. As technology has advanced, using devices to find information and even experience virtual spaces has become second nature to people of today. However, even in such a technology-centric world, the Trio Group aspires to a management style that values the relationship between people.

Relationships between people eventually come full circle. Moreover, our greatest strength is still relationships with people. We strive to provide systems and related services that enable us to fully demonstrate this.

Overview of visit to the CES2022

Two members of the Trio Group attended the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) held in Las Vegas, USA, in January 2022. A report of their visit is provided below.

CES was originally an exhibition of consumer electronics, but as consumer electronics have become more IT-based, they have spread to all areas of life, including health care, and CES is becoming an exhibition for businesses engaged in near-future technologies, including EVs, autonomous driving vehicles, drones, and space-related technologies.

In 2021, the exhibition was held entirely online because of COVID-19, but in 2022 it was a hybrid exhibition of in-person and online events.

However, the rapid spread of the Omicron variant led to the sudden cancellation of exhibits by major advanced companies, and the number of participants was lower than in previous years, giving the impression that there was a lot of empty space in the exhibition hall.

CES2022 inspection overview 1
CES2022 inspection overview 2

[Venue] The exhibition was held in the North Hall, Center Hall, South Hall, Sands and Aria of the Las Vegas Convention Center (LVCC), as well as in the newly constructed West Hall, which is exclusively for automobiles. The west, center, and south areas of the LVCC are connected by underground tunnels, through which autonomous vehicles will transport people. However, the autonomous vehicles were not yet operating at the time of our visit, so that was disappointing.

[New category] The new category, Space Tech, was only conspicuous in that there was a reentry spacecraft displayed outside the venue. What I found interesting was the satellite with built-in SONY camera. Hydroponics and other innovations were the main exhibits at Foodtech, also a new category. I felt keenly that the commercialization of food has begun.

[Consumer electronics] Previously released products such as LG's micro LED and Samsung's foldable smartphone have come to market, and many 3D smart glasses were also on exhibit. AR/VR is expanding from gaming to business applications. Lotte's AR/VR shopping experience was popular and there's still room for improvement, but I felt that the Metaverse is becoming a reality.

[Health care] Equipment that tests for coronavirus in exhaled breath and an AI exercise instruction system were on display. Infrared therapy equipment has become easier to use, and the massage device I inspected has an acupressure system that encompasses the entire body (I even tried this device during my visit because I was tired). ABBOTT, which was the keynote speaker, distributed Corona Self-Check Kits to visitors for free. It's killing two birds with one stone: advertising and preventing infection.

[Automobiles and robots] In the West Hall, which is dedicated to the automotive industry, Hyundai Motor Company was in good spirits, even though all the major companies from Japan, the U.S., and Europe were not participating. VINFAST from Vietnam also introduced a new EV car, and we realized that they are catching up with the world. In the robot-related area, the main exhibits were service robots such as bartender robots and catering robots. The Hyundai Motor booth displayed a four-legged running robo-dog, perhaps because it had acquired Boston Robotics.

[Startups] Eureka J-START at Eureka Park had 50 companies participating (many booths had no attendant due to COVID-19). There were also a number of award-winning products, including Skydrive, which is a flying taxi, a needleless glucose meter, and a wearable camera with LTE.

Sakura Line 311

The Trio Group support Sakura Line 311.

Some years after the Great East Japan Earthquake of 2011, an article by Sakura Line 311 was published in the Nihon Keizai Shimbun. The article stated the clear purpose of their activity is "to plant cherry trees in a line indicating the point beyond which people need to evacuate for safety in case of a tsunami, and I was so impressed with the idea that I really wanted to support them.
